MOTORISTS could face delays on the A419 over the next two weekends.
As part of the work on the new Blunsdon Bypass, the Highways Agency is reducing the A419 to one lane, in both directions, between the Turnpike roundabout and Castle Eaton junction.
The work will take place between Friday January 18 and Monday January 21 and then again from Friday January 25 until and Monday January 28.
The lanes will be closed from 9pm on the Fridays until 5am on the Monday mornings.
Highways Agency project manager Andrew Alcorn said: "As part of the construction of the new A419 Blunsdon Bypass, we need to divert electricity cables at the Chapel Farm Junction and a water main north of Turnpike Roundabout.
"To reduce the delays to traffic, we will carry out the work at weekends when the roads are quieter.
advertisement "Our contractors will be working extended hours including night time work.
"We will make very effort to reduce delays and disturbance but advise road users to allow longer for their journeys during this essential work."
The dates are subject to change due to the weather provisional plans for an additional weekend's work between Friday February 1 and Monday February 4 should it be needed.
