FOLLOWING a burglary in Marlborough, Wiltshire Police is warning people about safeguarding their homes as well as appealing for any witnesses to the incident.

Between June 27 and July 5, burglars broke into a house in Priorsfield and stole a number of items including a flat screen TV, a laptop and a pair of antique candlesticks.

PC Zoe Johnson said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area during these dates, who may have seen any suspicious activity to please get in touch with police immediately via 101.

“I would also like to issue a reminder to members of the public to please be vigilant regarding your own home security, and keep an eye on neighbours’ homes, especially at this time of year when a lot of people are on holiday. Report anything suspicious immediately. In an emergency call 999.”

Wiltshire Police has issued a warning to homeowners to lock all front and back doors when leaving their home as well as securing any windows that could provide access to burglars. People are warned not to hide spare keys anywhere outside their home and to keep valuables out of sight.
