DOZENS of people enjoyed food and drink at a Malmesbury-based brewery to celebrate the launch of their new exclusive membership club.

The Flying Monk Brewery, which is now in its third year, celebrated the launch of the club with a food and drinks festival at their Hullavington brewery on Friday, September 23 with support from local businesses The Sherston Wine Company, Thomas of Malmesbury Butchers, Brinkworth Dairy and Angells Mobile Catering.

As well as sampling award winning beers and ciders including Skorpion Black, the world's first black cider, festivalgoers enjoyed a tour of the brewery, the shop followed by a sausage festival and a visit from the town's legendary flying monk, Elmer.

Kevin Newbould, Managing Director of the brewery said: "The membership club launch was a tremendous success! It was a pleasure to welcome so many new and familiar faces to the brewery. There was a real mix of people, from regular customers to local businesses as well as valued pubs and suppliers.

"The membership club marks an important date for the brewery, we’re really making headway as an established brand in the industry. Our membership club reflects our progress and it’s a great way to give back to our loyal fans and following.”

Members of the club, which costs £10 a year to join, will benefit from 10 per cent discounts on all beers, ciders and tours and receive regular invites to exclusive events and open nights.
