AN elderly woman from the Devizes area is in a serious condition following a crash in Tilshead High Street yesterday afternoon.
The 95-year-old passenger of the blue Peugeot 107 was rushed to Salisbury District Hospital after the car collided with a metal post and railings at the edge of the road on the A360 at about 2.30pm.
The woman was freed by Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Amesbury and Salisbury.
She received serious injuries to her arm and internal organs while it is not thought that the 80-year-old driver, from Market Lavington, was seriously hurt.
The road was re-opened at 7pm yesterday.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash to call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where details can be left anonymously.
