Around 1,800 fans of West Country band The Wurzels turned out in Potterne on Friday night for an evening organised by the village cricket club.
Cricket club chairman Fred Kerley said: “What a fantastic night and what a fantastic time was had by everyone. Many thanks to all who came along and especially to our army of volunteers and sponsors who made the evening go so well. We are very grateful indeed.”
Tickets sold out well before the event and money will go to both club funds and the Potterne church roof fund.
Mr Kerley said: “A substantial sum of money has been raised. A chunk of this has already been committed to be spent on a new outfield mower.”
In addition to The Wurzels music was also provided by Corky and The Wardrobe Monsters.
