THREE lucky winners, including one who bounced back from the brink of death, have been chosen to be the face of Chippenham’s Emery Gate Shopping Centre.

The trio, including 19-year-old Kyle Reynolds who attends Poplar College, mum-of-two Rachael Martin and recent master’s graduate Becky Holdsworth, were all given a professional makeover and photoshoot, as well as £300 in high street vouchers after winning the competition.

Mr Reynolds’ mum, Victoria, said that winning the competition was especially pleasing for her son who was diagnosed with global developmental delay as a youngster and has undergone a number of operations to help with health problems.

She said: “Kyle has been through so much in his lifetime. He was pronounced dead twice on the operating table and even had to learn to walk again after being in a wheelchair for four years – when he took that first step it felt like a miracle.

“I’m certainly not surprised he’s won this competition though as he’s quite the go-getter and never lets anything stop him and now he can add ‘award-winning model’ to his list of achievements.”

Images of the three winners will now be used in advertising campaigns in the Emery Gate Shopping Centre for the next 12 months.

Phil Maclean, retail marketing manager of Emery Gate Shopping Centre, added: “We’ve absolutely loved running this competition and picking just three people to be the faces of Emery Gate was certainly no mean feat.

“We wanted to encourage a broad cross section of the local people to apply, whether young or old, disabled or able-bodied and of any background and that’s exactly what we got.

“Our winners are all great and shoppers can expect to see them strutting their stuff in our adverts soon.”
