Teenager Charlotte Johnstone was one of 20 winners at the annual Wiltshire College Apprenticeship Awards in Trowbridge last Wednesday.

The 19-year-old from Calne was named Customer Service Apprentice of the Year at the ceremony at the Arc Theatre after completed her apprenticeship with Danlers Limited on Bumpers’ Farm, Chippenham.

She said: “It was a brilliant night and a great confidence booster for me. It was great to meet the other award winners and to see how apprenticeships have evolved.”

Charlotte started in 2011 on an Intermediate Business Administration Apprenticeship and progressed to an Advanced Apprenticeship in the same area. She completed her course this summer and is employed by Danlers, which design and manufacture energy saving lighting controls and heating controls, as an internal sales coordinator.

The firm’s managing director Julian Kay said: “I consider Charlotte’s award to be an exceptional achievement and proof of her ability.”

The evening saw Wessex Water named Large Apprentice Employer of the Year and Trapeze Group UK Ltd from Hilperton pick up Medium Apprentice Employer of the Year.
