IN your report on the Vision for Devizes meeting, the impression may have been given that The Trust for Devizes were the authors of the Devizes Neighbourhood Plan. I wish to rectify that error.
Whilst the trust is, and always has been, fully supportive of its recommendations and objectives, the work was undertaken by the Devizes Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group.
The steering group is a highly motivated and dedicated body of people from Devizes, the parish of Bishops Cannings and the former parish of Roundway. This group spent several years researching and consulting before publishing the Neighbourhood Plan which was approved by an overwhelming majority of the public in the referendum of 2015. It now has legal force and is part of the Wiltshire Core Strategy.
The work of the steering group is ongoing, as the plan is a living document which is, and will be, regularly updated.
