FOLLOWING the local elections in May and now last week’s General Election, it is now more important than ever for national government, local councils, MPs and councillors as well as key partner agencies to come together and to try to resolve many of the challenges and the variety of issues that are within our local communities.
The next four years in Chippenham offer a wide range of opportunities that will see our housing numbers increase along with its population, new job opportunities in and around the local area and vital improvements to its existing traffic and railway network.
We also need to ensure that we see benefits to our local health network and schooling as well as ensuring that Chippenham sees the critical funding for improved community facilities.
I am looking forward to working with a wide variety of partners in trying to achieve and deliver many of the improvements listed, by working with and for our local residents.
I, like many people, hope to see the continued improvement of the offering and sustainability of Chippenham.
CLLR PETER J HUTTON
Wiltshire and Chippenham town councillor
