AM I the only person in Chippenham who is angry that we still have to walk buggies and wheelchairs down New Road, up Station Hill and through the main entrance to access the lifts at the “disabled friendly” newly improved station?

When I questioned the lack of infrastructure for a lift on the Hathaway side of the train station I was advised that there wouldn’t be one as there was insufficient money for it.

I am completely amazed as to why more care hadn’t been put into the planning for the “improvements” for Chippenham Station.

Surely a zig-zag ramp from the main car park could have been an option. I appeal to the Wiltshire planning department dealing with the King Alfred’s Gate development – don’t be short-sighted, ensure that the funds for putting in a third lift are supplied by the developers.
