WHEN did Devizes become so unfriendly?
We lived in Devizes for several years and only moved out of the area less than a year ago.
Imagine my husband and my surprise when three residents of the Drews Park estate verbally abused us for legally parking our campervan on the approach road into the estate area.
We were informed that we could not park on the main road and although none of these residents could justify their reasoning, they intimated they would have us moved on.
There are no signs or yellow lines on this road or any other indicators that parking is restricted or prohibited.
My husband is a retired engineer and was a volunteer with the Drews Pond Wood project and I am a retired nurse.
We were staying at a friend’s home in the area and were leaving in due course. We did not block anyone’s access and were not causing any difficulties.
It seems some people in this town think it is okay to bully and intimidate anyone who does not fit in to their ideal. What a shame, Devizes used to be a nice place to live.
