I WOULD like to applaud the letter written by Philip Blunt in the March 10 edition of this paper.
I fully endorse his sentiment, some Tory MPs need to take a good look at themselves and ask the question: Since we came to power have we made this country better for everyone or worse? Well, judging by the rise in homeless people and the cuts to almost all public services, clearly not. We seem to be paying more and getting less.
The vast majority of the people of these great islands of ours were not responsible for the greed of the few that brought about the ‘crash’ of 2007-8 but it is the majority that are paying for it.
No wonder then that the turnout for voting is at an all-time low, contempt for politicians is also at rock bottom.
