If The Range development breaches the A350, the Chippenham western boundary, then it’s the Wild West for all future planning because there will be no protections.

So if you have a property west of the A350 you should be worried about future developments.

That does pose a question in my mind. Did any person with advance knowledge of The Range make any financial gain before the application went in? If so, would that be seen as breaching standards of ethics?

For example, if this monstrosity is built, any property with a view of this will devalue. It’s not hard to see that this would be an inevitable consequence of a breach. So by selling in advance with your knowledge you gain a financial premium which would not be the case if you sold after the development was revealed to the public. I would be interested in any reaction to this from estate agents in particular.
