Last Saturday I spent the day in Calne with my children. We went to the Community Hall at Beversbrook and saw Bjorn the polar bear, which was amazing and free.

We took part in the Lantern Parade with others from the children’s school. It was great fun, especially with the reindeer in the parade.

The Christmas lights looked lovely when they were switched on; they are usually the best in the local area and didn’t disappoint this year.

After the wonderful fireworks we went to the Town Hall and the children visited Santa in his magical grotto, which was fabulous and also free.

It was a fantastic community event to start the run-up to Christmas. I love living in Calne! I don’t know who organised it all, but many congratulations and a great, big thank you from us.
