It was suggested in your last correspondence column by Dr Brian Mathew (‘Promote good practice’, letters, September 18) that I had opposed the solar plan application at Sandridge Vale near Seend.
The author should know that that is outside my constituency and for that reason I have never taken any official stance on this application.
I think he may be referring to a circular email from someone called James Gray who lives in Seend and has opposed that application.
I should make it plain that it is not me and that neither now nor in the future would it be right for me to take any interest, in my capacity as an MP, in planning applications outside my constituency.
If now or in the future anyone is purporting to be me, I would ask them to be very careful indeed.
James Gray MP, North Wiltshire constituency.
