I recently parked my car at the side of Marlborough High Street at a very busy time of day, then got out and locked it.
When I returned, to my dismay, I realised that I had lost all my keys.
More in hope than expectation, I tried the driver’s door and found it was unlocked.
I looked in the car and, tucked away out of sight to any passer-by, but very visible to anyone getting into the car, were the keys.
Clearly somebody had picked them up and used the car’s remote to identify it and then place them as described. I was very relieved.
To that anonymous benefactor, for your enterprise and your kindness, please accept my heartfelt thanks.
Malcolm Emery, Elcot Lane, Marlborough.
