SUTTON Benger nudged a further point clear at the top of Dorset & Wilts Two North with a convincing 48-0 victory against Alfred Nomads.
As nearest rivals Calne edged to a 12-5 success over Frome 2nd, Benger racked up a bonus-point triumph to go two points in front, ahead of Saturday's meeting with Calne.
The boots of scrum-half Christopher Bolter and fly-half Ollie Maher put Nomads on the back foot in the first half and Ben Pinniger got the first try of the game, breaking through the defensive line from five metres out.
George Dent then finished off a backs move, with a dynamic run through, both he and Pillinger scoring a further try each in the first half, while Maher also crossed as his side led 31-0.
In the second period and against the wind, Benger continued to force pressure, scoring a further three tries.
The first try came from James Goodenough, on his return from injury before Ben Pope capitalised on a numbers mis-match out wide.
Dent claimed his hat-trick just before the final whistle with another strong run.
