CHIPPENHAM signed off for the Christmas break with their 14th victory on the trot to hold a commanding 10-point advantage at the top of South West One East.

Fielding New Zealander Jimmy Owen, from Christchurch in New Zealand, at full-back, Chippenham were pinned back early on, but the forwards worked their way upfield and quick ball from scrum-half Lewis Surry allowed Fraser Clilverd to touch down after 10 minutes, Sam Saunders converting.

The Chippenham forwards continued to put pressure on Windsor making big ground and Ryan Surry hacked a loose ball on and crossed the line for an unconverted try The visitors however, began to concede silly penalties , one of which the home side landed to reduce the deficit.

But back came Chippenham and the pressure told as Lewis Surry darted through to score another unconverted try.

Windsor again responded and excellent interplay from their backs saw them waltz through the defence for a converted try.

But within three minutes, Chippenham won a penalty which was converted by Saunders for a 10-point half-time lead.

Stout defence kept the visitors at bay at the start of the second half but Chippenham finally got the fourth try that secured the bonus point.

Fly-half Chris Simmons threw a mis-pass out to Ryan Surry, who found the same to cross the line from the 22.
