MINETY pulled away in the second half to climb back up to second in Dorset & Wilts One North.
The visitors got off to a flying start as, on his own 22, scrum-half Duncan Simpson sniped round the fringes of a ruck to break Pewsey’s line before offloading to flanker Steve Brown.
Brown scooted the length of the pitch, unselfishly drawing the last man before passing to number eight Andrew Hibbard, who piled over in the corner for the try.
Pewsey soon replied with a try by the posts for a simple conversion.
But after half an hour, a series of flowing rucks allowed Dale Langdown to release centre Dave Church, who was stopped just shy of the line.
Quick recycling allowed Jack Ward’s popped pass to put Hibbard over for his second try of the afternoon.
Ward kicked the conversion but Pewsey came back with a penalty to trail by just two points.
Minety switched up a gear in the second half, Piers Dixon being particularly impressive.
Ward kicked a penalty , then the third try arrived when Church crashed through tackles and offloaded to Robin Greenway, who sprinted over unopposed.
Ward converted and added a second penalty after Pewsey were reduced to 14 by a sin-binning.
The final try came from a catch-and-drive at a lineout, Gethin Roberts grounding and Ward converting.
