MARLBOROUGH slipped to a third away defeat of the campaign as hosts University of Exeter C went top of Davis Wood League Premier Division Two.
Victory could have taken the Wiltshire men into second but they made a poor start to the game and deservedly went two goals behind.
The visitors gave themselves a lift before half time when Ed Gosling’s penetrating run in to the D led to Rich Holman finishing from an acute angle.
But Exeter came out of the traps strongly in the second period and two more goals effectively ended the game as a contest.
