BASSETT claimed a comfortable win in their first Wilts & NE Somerset Division One game of the season.
The first goal came when Anthony Matthews pounced at the far post and the visitors stretched their lead from a Lawrence Winter reverse hit.
Tom Marmoy and Martyn Chivers pushed forward from the back in the second period and their side extended their lead when Ross Pinnuck’s powerful drag flick beat the ‘keeper from a penalty corner.
Grant Kirkup scored the fourth goal with a thunderous shot which flew past the keeper and, as Jack Rose and Eliot King kept West Wilts at bay at the other end, Winter slapped home the fifth.
