LAURIE Canter will be ruing two double bogeys during his second round at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship today.
Teeing off on the 10th on the Kingbarns Golf Links, the Cumberwell Park pro suffered a horrendous start to his round as his two shots at the 11th.
However, Canter hit back with birdies on 12, 14 and 16 as he hit the turn one-under-par for both the day and overall, following a level par round of 72 on the Carnoustie course yesterday.
The 26-year-old then claimed an eagle three on the third before a birdie on the sixth saw him move up the leaderboard.
However, Canter then handed two shots back on the seventh with his second double bogey of the day before finishing his round with a birdie four to end the day with a three-under 69.
Meanwhile, Bowood’s Jordan Smith found Carnoustie a tough course to handle as he shot a one-over-par 73 to leave at one-under for the tournament.
Smith, from Derry Hill, teed off on the 10th and hit turn with at one-under after picking up a birdie on the 18th.
However, the 24-year-old found the front nine more challenging as he dropped shots on the second and third holes.
Smith picked up a birdie four at the sixth before he shot a double-bogey six, however, Smith will go into his third round tomorrow after picking up a final hole birdie.
