NORTH Wilts Golf Club hosted its seventh annual girls’ open, with 24 competitors from across the south west taking part.

The lower handicap girls played a medal round, which was won by Alex Feltham, from Chippenham GC.

The stableford competition for handicaps over 24 saw the host club’s Rachel Westcott triumph.

Six girls aged 7-12 competed in a 10-hole short course competition, with seven year old Isobella Bleaken, from Knowle, winning convincingly.

OGBOURNE Downs Golf Club has welcomed qualified PGA professional Jon Sutherland as general manager.

Meanwhile, Charlie Cossins has joined as PGA assistant professional.

Cossins was Bath club champion from 2005-07, as well as lifting the South West Schools title in 2005.

He also won the Somerset County Colts title in 2008 and was fourth at the National Lagonda Trophy 2008, before managing six top-three finishes on the Jamega Tour, including three victories. He will start the first year of his PGA training in October.
