TOM Stoner equalised with four minutes to go to earn Devizes a 2-2 draw with county rivals West Wilts in the GoCrea8 League Conference North.

Chippenham were unable to earn their first point as they were soundly beaten 5-0 at Penarth.

In East Central One, Devizes A picked up their first home win of the campaign as they dispatched Yate A 3-1.

Wasteful finishing cost the home side before link-up play down Devizes’ left led to Nick Sherman teeing up a tap-in for 1-0.

Good pressure on the right forced a mistake and let Mike Greenman through for the second and, after a counter attack in the second half, Ed Palmer launched a shot past the Yate keeper for the third before the visitors responded late on.

Chippenham A’s winning start to the Central Two campaign came to an abrupt halt as they lost 2-1 to bottom side South Glos.

The home side took the lead in the first half with a fine reverse stick flick from an acute angle by striker Henry Price but despite it staying that way until half-time, Glos equalised from a penalty corner after the break.

Further poor marking by the Chippenham defence late in the second half then cost them the deciding goal.

Chippenham B earned the spoils from an entertaining East Central One clash against City of Bath C, winning 6-4.

The home side started brightly and scored through Simon Gubbin and Harry Elias, Bath responding twice before further goals from Elias and Guy Barrett gave Chippenham a two-goal lead.

Rich Borman and Josh Burrows added further goals in the second period to put the game beyond doubt.

Chippenham C were beaten 2-0 by North Wilts A in East Central Two, while the D team were beaten 3-0 by Team Bath Buccs G.

n Devizes Ladies came unstuck at home to West Clubs League North Division leaders Bournemouth, slipping to a 4-0 defeat.

In Wessex Division Two, Chippenham 4th and Devizes 2nd played out a 2-2 draw, both Chippenham goals coming from Linda Girdlestone.
