CHIPPENHAM Moonraker gymnasts took part in the Liberty three-piece event in Frome, Somerset.

The gymnasts competed in floor, vault and either bars or trampet events, depending upon their ability level.

In the five year old age group, in round one on the trampet, debutant Lucy Barnard was fourth, with Emmy Taylor joint first in the six year old age group, winning the gold medal in her first external competition.

Amber Nixon was presented with a runners-up medal.

In the eight year old group, Imogen Waller took a second gold for the club, while at nine years of age Moonrakers took their first clean sweep, with Holly Parker taking gold, Hermione Powell silver and Megan Bates bronze.

Round two on the bars saw Katherine Allday take bronze in the six year old age group.

The seven year old age group was a tough division, with Florrie Strange the top performer in fourth, Emily Draper ninth and debutant Shawna Jones 12th.

In the boys competition, Callum Johnstone was third overall with Isaac Vines receiving a runners up award.

In the final round, over the floor, vault and bar events, nine year old Laura Findlay was sixth in her division.

Emma Rhodes and Oriana Powell both took gold medals in their age groups (11 and 13) and the club finished the day with their second clean sweep in the 12 year old age group, where Charlotte Townsend took gold, Jenny Francklin silver and Grace Macklin-Day bronze.
