CHIPPENHAM’S Moonraker Gymnastics sent two teams to the Forest of Dean Gymnastics Centre for the opening West Country League event.
Entering teams into Divisions 3A and B, the younger A team lost two of their six members to illness before competition started.
With the top four scores counting and therefore no room for error, Ellie Kimber, Ellie Treacy, Sophie Townsend and Emily Macklin-Day performed well to finish just outside the medals in fourth.
The B League, the next level of competition, saw Katie Strange, Lauren Searle, Mia Wright, Morgan Sanderson, Kelsey Stokes and Maisie Russell show a high level of skill across the apparatus.
They secured the silver medal, a single point away from gold.
Individually, Strange clinched first place on the beam, third on the floor and second in the all around.
Searle was third on beam and fourth all around with Wright taking second place on the floor exercise.
