JAMES Blake produced a fabulous five-star solo performance as Pewsey Vale ran riot on their trip to Division One West basement boys Tytherington Rocks.
Alistair Tuttle’s men were emphatic 6-0 winners at Hardwicke Playing Fields, with Blake getting all but one of the visitors’ goals.
There was little suggestion that the contest would finish in such one-sided fashion at half-time as Pewsey had only been able to fashion out a slender 1-0 lead.
However, inspired by the efforts of Blake, Vale ran riot after the restart to score five further goals without reply, although they were helped by the dismissal of Tytherington’s Kieran Williams.
Pewsey have no game this weekend but are up to fifth in the table, four points behind second-placed North Leigh United with a game in hand.
Royal Wootton Bassett Town had a fixtureless weekend of their own in the Premier Divison and were due to return to action away at nearby Fairford Town last night.
They travel to Longlevens on Saturday.
