PEWSEY Vale conceded eight times in Saturday’s Sydenhams League Division One fixture as they were humiliated by Ringwood Town.

Tom Ballard’s 12th-minute penalty handed Adi Holcombe’s Pewsey a lead but that was soon cancelled out when Lee Vint levelled.

It then went from bad to worse when Vint scored again, before the hosts added a third to make it 3-1 at the interval.

Vale saw Ben Holcombe replace Eden Bunce at the break and that change seemed to have made an impact as Sam Tuttle was denied twice.

But Ringwood pounced for the fourth time when Ben Harris couldn’t prevent Peter Richmond-Cole firing home.

Charlie Heggan registered the hosts' fifth, before Matt Steer added a sixth and seventh before Craig Simmons pulled one back for Vale.

The game wasn’t finished there as Ringwood still had time to crash in an eighth when Thomas Faulkner grabbed one from the bench as the game finished 8-2 to the hosts.

Vale will be hoping to plug their leaky defence, which has already conceded 46 times, when they play East Cowes Victoria on Saturday.

  • In the Hellenic League Premier Division, Royal Wootton Bassett Town recorded a 4-0 win against Oxford City Nomads.

Steve Robertson claimed a double whilst Dale Richards and Nathan Hawkins also netted as Rich Hunter’s side moved up to sixth.

They entertain Burnham on Saturday.
