FRESHFORD United went into their Tuesday night game away at Semington Magpies knowing that they couldn’t afford anymore slip ups if they were to have any chance of claiming a third successive Division One title.
Nick Ross opened the scoring for Freshford slotting home a Gavin Eyres corner and he was then joined on the scoresheet by Tom Rooney finishing off a Dean Ranger through ball.
Semington reduced the arrears before half time through Mike Hill.
In the second half Freshford restored their two goal lead, Rich Bliha setting up Dean Ranger for a neat finish, and Jason Povey scoring Freshford’s fourth, after Dave Percival beat three players before supplying Povey with the perfect cross.
Mike Hill completed the scoring by netting his second for Semington .
