PEWSEY Vale were unable to follow up their victory over East Cowes Victoria as they fell to a 3-0 defeat away to Laverstock and Ford last weekend.

In poor weather conditions, Vale were able to hold their visitors in the first half but the floodgates opened after the break.

Laverstock took control of the game and broke the deadlock 11 minutes after the restart when Russell Jones picked up the ball on the halfway line and was unchallenged as he slotted home.

The visitors doubled their advantage through Adam Bourner before substitute Sam O’Hagan completed the scoring.

Vale’s game away to United Services Portsmouth on Tuesday night was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
