BACK-TO-BACK victories this week have soothed the ‘bitter disappointment’ of Chippenham Park’s start to the season, according to manager Dave Ferris.

Park had endured an indifferent opening to the campaign but now find themselves right up amongst it at the top end of the table following victories over Westbury United and Wincanton Town.

Charlie Norman’s strike was enough to hand Park all three points at near neighbours Westbury on Tuesday night, following up Saturday’s 2-1 win at home to Wincanton, which came courtesy of goals from Jordan Coulter and Robbie Burton.

Ferris said: “We’ve been bitterly disappointed. We’ve lost four games, and two of those heavily, but it’s been a superb week and now it’s probably the best start we’ve made in the three years we've been in this division.

"It's been a superb week for us. Wincanton are a very good footballing side and then Tuesday's game was one that I wasn't really looking forward to because it's a game that everybody expects you to win.

"We should have scored three or four in the first half but Westbury had their chances too."
