WOOTTON Bassett Town warmed up for their Hellenic League Challenge Cup semi-final tomorrow night with a five-star showing at bottom-of-the-table Abingdon Town last night.
Ryan Stanners was on target twice for Jeff Roberts’ men, with Adam Corcoran, Kalum Youngsam and Tyler Sheppard also getting themselves on the scoresheet.
Bassett bid for a place in the Challenge Cup final when they travel to Brimscombe &Thrupp tomorrow (kick-off 7.45pm).
Meanwhile, Corsham Town were unable to prevent Shepton Mallet from sealing second-place and automatic promotion to the Premier Division as their 15-match unbeaten run came to an end in a 3-1 defeat.
