DEVIZES bounced back from a difficult week in Central Twowith a 3-2 victory at Old Bristolians A.

The Wiltshire club’s two men’s had been deducted five points each over an eligibility issue in their opening match of the season and lost 3-1 to Robinsons B last week.

But in a dominant first 20 minutes, three short corners in succession led to captain Ollie Smith gathering a rebound to score the opener.

The lead was doubled as Andy Tookey found the net before the hosts hit back.

Devizes restored their two-goal advantage as Tookey netted again, Bristolians pulling a goal back after half time.

  •  MARLBOROUGH’S search for an opening Davis Wood league Championship win of the season goes on as they lost 4-1 at home to Truro.

Truro, showing no signs of lethargy after their long trip, took the upper hand and their efforts were rewarded when they took the lead after a snap-shot finish.

The lead was soon doubled on the stroke of half time. Marlborough skipper Rich Holman rallied his troops and they started the second half brightly, but Truro pressed their advantage home and gained a further two goals.

Marlborough were awarded a penalty flick after Holman had a shot illegally stopped on the line, Anil Sud converting the penalty flick.

  • Chippenham Ladies were twice pegged back by Gloucester 2 as they drew 2-2 in the West Clubs League Premier Division 2A.

Sian Perham and Dani Spencer scored in each half for the home side.
