SWINDON midfielder Matt Ritchie has been rewarded for his superb form this season by picking up the League Two Player of the Year award tonight.

Ritchie was presented with his prize at the Football League awards at The Brewery in London, and beat off competition from Cheltenham’s Marlon Pack and former Crawley striker Tyrone Barnett.

Town were nominated for three other awards but narrowly missed out on them all.

Town lost out to Burnley and Portsmouth respectively for the Programme of the Year and Family Club of the Year awards, but were named the best in League Two for both.
