WITH Trowbridge Wanderers Reserves not having kicked a ball for six weeks they could be forgiven if they had forgotten what a football actually looked like.

Their match at Lambrok Road against Bratton was their first since they beat Holt 3-2 at the end of January to secure their second division status for another season at least.

And Jake Wyman’s side would have been a little frustrated as after grabbing a 2-0 half-time lead they let Bratton back in the second half as the villagers fought back to claim a point from a 2-2 draw.

Michael Johnson put Wanderers in front and when Gavin Francis' double their the hosts lead it looked as if their period of inactivity had worked in their favour.

But that wasn’t the case as the hosts wilted in the second half and Bratton grew in confidence and managed to claw their way back into the game.

A perfect delivery from DJ Wheeler picked out Ben Mead whose diving header halved the deficit and Wheeler again provided the ammunition for Mark Howell, who scored his first goal of the season to earn Bratton a share of the points from their 2-2 which at the break didn’t seem possible.

Worton & Cheverell 1 North Bradley 6

WORTON & Cheverell were hoping to arrest a six-match losing run when they hosted promotion and title hopefuls North Bradley at Sandfield in West Lavington.

But like their previous half a dozen outings, their seventh also ended in failure with Bradley running out 6-1 victors as they picked up three more points that saw them close the gap on leaders Boomsbury to six points.

Shaun Percival finished well into the bottom corner to give Bradley the lead on two minutes but he saw his opener cancelled out two minutes later when Carl Ledbury squared things up for Worton.

The hosts then set up their own downfall when Aaron Kyte put through his own net to hand the lead back to Bradley and the fell further behind when Tim Richard’s delightful cross field ball picked out Shaun Percival whose bullet of a shot from 20 yards made it 3-1.

Dave Percival added a fourth for Bradley before half time and it threatened to be a rout when Shaun Percival completed his hat-trick early in the second half for 5-1, but after that although they had numerous chances to add to their tally the only person to do so was Jack Heard who wrapped up the visitors' half dozen with another well taken finish.
