SOMETIMES you think that the equaliser isn’t going to come but at the same time, we’ve got fantastic self-belief and we always go to the end.

We were poor in the first half against Frome and they were better than us and brighter than us.

I never really got my creative players into the game and we had to change it in the second half to get around them.

Guths (James Guthrie) and Stearny (Ross Stearn) managed to get a few crosses in eventually and it paid dividends when we got Lewis Powell in for the equaliser.

All in all, I can hold my hands up and say that maybe I got my tactics wrong to start with but it’s a worthy point in the end because we had all the pressure, hit the post and had a few cleared off the line before we got the goal.

Seven points from nine over the Christmas period is not a bad return.

I’m just pleased for the lads for what they’ve shown, not just against Frome and on Saturday against Totton but in the last three or four weeks.

You’ve got to take your hats off to them because they’ve got that never-say-die attitude, which has come up trumps a few times.

Poweller’s in great form and popped up with a great bit of movement to get us back in the game at the end but at the same time, the defenders have also been brilliant and they’ve got to take credit for what they’ve been doing at the back.

We don’t like to single certain lads out because it’s all about the team performance.

We play Oxford this weekend – they’ve got a manager (Mike Ford) in this season who’s been given the financial clout to go out and restructure the side with more quality and more strength in depth compared to other seasons.

They’re a good side so we have to make sure we do what we do.

Scott Lye will still be out with his hamstring and Nathan Rudge is struggling with his ankle.
