I THOUGHT that there were a lot of good performances in Tuesday’s win against St Albans and it made for a great team performance.

I was pleased to see Lewis Powell get his goals because he hasn’t given up the ghost and he’s kept working hard.

I said to him at half-time that the chances were going to come because he was doing the right things and I’m happy that they did.

Mani (Randhawa) had his first game at centre-half at this level and was fantastic and Toby Osman also did well.

Ross Stearn got his goal – and I think everyone could see that it was definitely a cross – and I was pleased for him because he’s been patient and you’re not always going to be able to give someone a game every single week.

I’ve had to sit out the last two games because I’ve been unwell. Being in the stands does give you a different perspective and I’ve still spoken to the lads before the games, at half-time and afterwards.

We’re starting to get that cohesion coming together now after the disjointed start to the season that we’ve had but we don’t want to get carried away after this week.

We’ve got to move on and start thinking about the next game and we know that we’ve got a very tough game ahead of us on Saturday.

We’ve had Eastleigh watched a couple of times and they’ve a very big, powerful side, who score a lot of goals from set-pieces.

They’ve had a great run of results recently but if we can get ourselves through, then we’re into the first round proper of the Trophy and we’ve got the chance of getting a tie against one of the major sides from the Conference Premier.

I hope that the supporters turn out in force on Saturday but that we don’t get caught up in the occasion.

Nathan Rudge and Greg Tindle’s suspensions are up but Dave Gilroy, Alex Kite and Scott Lye are all injured.
