WE DIDN’T get the result we were looking for at Weymouth on Tuesday night but at this stage of the season, you’ll see all sorts of teams beating other sides and it’ll take 10 or 12 games for things to settle down properly.

If we’d managed to get ourselves ahead at all, then we might have taken control of the game and things would have been different but I can’t fault the lads’ effort at all yet.

Lads have had to finish work early, then travel over two hours on the coach down to Weymouth, play a football match, and then travel back - when you’re getting back at 12:30, some have then still got an hour-and-a-half’s drive home.

I’ve also been having to play a few people out of position and when you’re trying to fit square pegs in round holes, that can also make things difficult.

On the other side of the coin, we managed to get ourselves in front with an early goal against Chesham on Saturday and hold on for a good win.

The goal was a corner routine that came straight from the training ground, so it’s nice to see when those come off.

Chesham are another good side and we did have two or three chances to make it more comfortable, but luckily, we did enough and got another clean sheet too.

I know exaclty what to expect this Saturday when we play Brackley - it’ll be another exciting game with a lot of attacking football played.

They’ve got some good goalscorers in their side like Michael Chennells and Elliot Sandy and they’ve got flying wingers in Tom Winters and Owen Story.

They’ve also added some good players in Steve Diggin and Jefferson Louis too.

Monday’s game with Frome will also be another tough one but we’re ready for it all and we’ll make use of our squad.
