I THINK we showed what we can do on our day against Truro but I’m disappointed for my players because we deserved better.

It was the same kind of performance that I get week in, week out and there’s no player in the changing room that will contemplate taking his foot off the gas between now and the end of the season – I won’t allow it.

One thing we can’t keep doing though is relying on our tight defence when we get in front.

We’ve got to be more clinical in front of goal and get ourselves two or three goals because, against the better sides, they will still create chances and punish us.

I think that it’s between Hednesford or Truro to go on and win the league now.

I say Hednesford because they’re a powerful, athletic side who don’t give much away and they’ve got good quality going forward.

Truro have got fantastic offensive options, they can outscore most sides in the league and they try and play good football.

I wouldn’t rank any of the top teams as far better than us – they have got good quality and a lot of that comes from bigger budgets.

Ash Williams and Alan Griffin will now be out for the rest of the season. Ash has damaged his lateral ligaments in his knee at training so we’ve got to have that assessed but he won’t be available for a while.

Griff hurt his hand ages ago and he had to have an operation this week where they’ve taken the ligament from his finger and put it into his thumb, so we’ll have to do without his services.

Hemel have picked up a bit now – they’ve got a few of their main strikers back and pulled off some great results in the last few weeks.

We’ll have to be at our best to get anything there.
