I’M disappointed for the players after Saturday but I want them to go on now and do well, which they will do for the rest of the season.

They won’t give up the ghost and they’ll try and finish as high as they can – I’ll make sure of that.

They’ve been on a good run and they’ve not done much wrong but you can’t legislate for the poor error we made to give the ball away.

It kills your season – the lads have worked their socks off for 34 weeks so far and then they get undone like that.

If you come away with a point, you never know, it might have been enough to inch you closer.

You still look forward to playing every game of football because you never know which game is going to be you last.

I’ve always drummed that into players and told them always play the game like it’s your last.

You’ve got have pride in yourself as a team, pride in yourself as a player and pride in your football club as well.

We’ve got to make sure we finish the season as strong as we can, especially with everything we’ve been through, with budget cuts and players not being paid.

The squad has kept together and to do what we’re doing is fantastic.

I think everybody can see that there’s not one player who’s tried to shirk his responsibility in any which way so I know they’re going to give me their all between now and the end of the season.

The lads are looking forward to this weekend’s game and we’ll come up against Barry Hayles, who I’ve played against in the past.

He’s a fantastic player, who’s had a great career, and he’s probably on half of my whole budget.

It’s no secret that money talks and that’s the type of quality you can bring in when you’ve got it.
