PEWSEY Vale boss Adi Holcombe is simply hoping that his side can keep on winning as they look to succeed in the Wessex League Division One promotion battle.

Pewsey picked up their eighth victory from the last 10 games with a 7-0 demolition of struggling Stockbridge.

With the visitors going down to ten men for a professional foul on Matt Bissett early on, Michael Martin netted a hat-trick, while Sam Mepham, Jon Guthrie, Ryan Banks and Bissett were all on target.

“It was a good chance to get our goal difference up and I’m pleased that we did that,” said Holcombe.

“It was pretty comfortable, especially after they had a man sent off, and we could have scored even more than we did.

“Our Achilles’ heel has been the weaker sides, so it was pleasing in the end.

“All we can do is keep on winning - our second-to-last game of the season is against Horndean and hopefully them and some of the other sides will have dropped a few points by then too.”

Pewsey sit fifth in the table but have two games in hand on fourth-placed AFC Portchester Adam Field is away for this weekend’s trip to Hythe & Dibden while Josef Hornbogen is suspended after his red card against Downton on March 8.
