BASSETT were undone by two early second-half goals to leave them still needing points to be absolutely sure of avoiding an immediate return to Division One West.
Carl Davies gave the visitors the lead, but Bassett were level by half time as Alex Green got them back on terms.
However Jack Tallentire then James Partridge wrapped up the points in Binfield’s favour after the break, although defeats for both Bracknell and Witney ensured Bassett were no worse off.
On Saturday, Bassett were undone by Jamie Piercey’s superb strike as they were beaten 2-1 at Reading Town.
Jordan Cousineau gave Reading the lead just after the half-hour mark, but Bassett got themselves back into the contest when Tom Dingle looped home a header from a Matt Bown.
Bassett play host to high-flying Slimbridge on Saturday.
