ADAM Young claims that his Melksham Town side played well despite their 1-0 loss to promotion-chasers Bridport on Saturday.
Defender Matthew Condliffe netted the only goal of the game for the hosts, with an effort that looped over Melksham keeper Nick Evans, while the closest Young’s men came to levelling the scores was when striker Nick Ridout struck the crossbar.
“We actually played pretty well but the difference was that they took their chance,” said the Melksham boss.
“Out of the 11 players we had, seven or eight were carrying little injuries like hamstring strains and ankle knocks and when you get to this stage of the season, you just want to try and get through to the end.”
Melksham travel to struggling Elmore this weekend.
