CALNE Town joint-boss Jeff Roberts says his team have begun to discover the fighting spirit to be successful in the Toolstation League First Division.
Calne have now gone five games unbeaten, Dan King and Glenn Armstrong netting for the Lilywhites although Dan Lardner was sent off for a lunging challenge early in the second half.
“We’ve got a young side and a lot of the 18 and 19 year-olds haven’t been used to the physical side of things. We’ve learnt to put teams under more pressure and battle from the start,” said Roberts.
Midfielder Jordan Roberts, son of the Calne joint-boss, is flying to Canada on April 4 for a trial with USL Premier Development League side Abbotsford Mariners.
