CHIPPENHAM Town are offering reduced season ticket prices for fans next month, as they look to give their finances an end-of-season boost.

Bluebirds fans who purchase season tickets for next year before May 1 can save up to almost 13 per cent off the normal price .

The big freeze robbed the Hardenhuish Park club of almost two months’ worth of matchday income, and director Chris Blake is hoping that the club can get their finances back on track.

“We usually get a good response from people who want to get a season ticket early and it obviously helps generate some income for us,” said Blake.

“Some people have also come to me asking about the possibility of paying for them in two installments too and that’s something I’m more than happy to think about.

“We’ve had good attendances this year but we don’t get the same amount of income in the midweek games that have replaced the Saturday ones and we’ve still got few bills that we still need to pay off.

“We choose to pay our players before the suppliers but things like the Blues Bar being open on weekends has really helped us too.

“We’re just going week by week at the moment and we’re starting to think about budgets for next season too.”

Town's Achilles heel this season – the draw – came back to haunt them at basement boys Tiverton on Tuesday.

Lady Luck deserted the Bluebirds as they outplayed their relegation threatened hosts and the ecstatic cheering of the home supporters at the final whistle said it all.

The second half belonged solely to Chippenham with Ashley Williams’ shot being saved by keeper Ryan Draper’s leg, before Luke Gullick’s low shot appeared to be heading for the corner of the net before a home defender’s boot deflected it for a corner at the last minute.

The best chance of the half saw Alan Griffin flick a headed effort to Lewis Powell, who swivelled and shot but Draper gathered.
