CORSHAM footballer Matt Ralph is finally experiencing the pain of defeat after suffering his first loss in the Chippenham & District Sunday League for more than 160 league games.
The 23-year-old, also joint-manager of Premier Division Corsham Centre, was part of the side beaten 3-0 by Biddestone Social, with the defender having been personally unbeaten in 162 matches.
Carpenter Ralph, who lives on Breakspear Drive plays for Bath’s Larkhall Athletic on Saturdays and saw teammates Gary Banks and Nat Auckland score for Biddestone.
“I’ll get a bit of banter about that, but they were the better side on the day,” he said.
“I didn’t know how many games it was. It’s great to set a record and I love playing Sundays because it’s with the same lads I’ve always played with.”
