JOHN Atkins won Sunday’s Wilts Angling Open at Barton Farm with 13lb 10oz of chub, roach and bleak, ahead of Trowbridge’s Matt Skyrme.
Trowbridge veteran Dave Baker was third with 9lb 8oz of roach.

Lavington gained a runaway win over Airsprung in their inter-club match fished at Merritts Lake on Sunday, the home team filling five of the top six places.
Top honours went to Dave Bancroft from Trowbridge, fishing for Lavington, with 99lb 12oz of carp.
Devizes matchman Terry Fell, also fishing for Lavington, was runner up with 89lb 8oz of carp, followed by teammate Don Keates, of Hilperton, with 60lb 1oz of carp.

l Gary O’Shea, of Preston Innovation Thatchers, claimed victory in the Pewsey Open match on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Pewsey Wharf with 8lb 10oz of roach and skimmers.

GLOUCESTER’s John Tockwell clinched victory at Sunday’s Chippenham Open on the Bristol Avon with tench and chub weighing 18lb 5oz.
Swindon’s Pete Gilbert was next with 14lb 13oz of chub and perch followed by Andy Gabb from Thornbury with 13lb 8oz of tench and roach.

AVON had a runaway win over Pucklechurch in Sunday’s inter-club event on the Bristol Avon at Portman Road, taking the top six individual places.
Devizes’ Kevin Rowles won with 16lb 12oz of roach, followed by Robin Guy of Melksham with 12lb 9oz of chub and roach, just missing out on £500 after drawing the golden peg.
Andy Pratten of Avon was third prize with 12lb 7oz 8dm of roach.
