CHIPPENHAM Town will host half-term football coaching sessions later this month.

The Town Council’s Football in the Community programme, which is based at Stanley Park and headed by Town’s goalkeeping coach Pete Hussey will team up with Coerver Coaching Wiltshire for the sessions for girls and boys aged 5-14.

Coerver Coaching is a worldwide teaching method which passes on the skills used by the likes of Gareth Bale, David Villa, Xavi and Petr Cech.

Hussey said: “We are hoping that each of the days will attract 60 children and that through our association with Coerver Coaching they will all learn new skills and improve their football technique.”

The sessions will take place at Stanley Park, with Chippenham Town players appearing at some stage and the youngsters are also likely to be given a tour of the club’s Hardenhuish Park.

Chippenham Town board member Barry Stephens added: “Chippenham Town are pleased to continue their association with Football in the Community and form a new one with Coerver Coaching that will benefit youth football development in Chippenham.”

The days will run from 9.30am to 3.30 am on Tuesday to Thursday, February 2 to 24.
