AFTER winning their group Wiltshire moved into the knockout stages of the Short Mat Inter County Championship.

The Moonrakers’ opponents were last year’s champions, the West Midlands, who boasted several ex-England players.

But Wiltshire moved into the national quarter finals as the game ended in a 20-20 draw, Wilts declared the winners on countback.

Pride of place went to the four of Geoff and Dawn Toomer (Dinton) and Pam and Les Baldry (Crudwell) who won both their games.

Also undefeated were Geoff and Jenny Lane (Crudwell), who were undefeated in the pairs.

Wiltshire move forward to the national quarter finals where they will meet Somerset on Sunday, February 13.
