TROWBRIDGE Town U14 Girls became the first team to clinch a league title this season after a convincing 6-2 win over local rivals Trowbridge Wanderers.

Town, who still have four games remaining, cannot now be caught and the league success follows a victory in the cup last season.

Town were 2-0 up within four minutes of the start, goals coming at regular intervals.

In their 11 games to date they are unbeaten, having won 10, scoring 53 times in the process.

Emma Tandy scored a hat-trick against Wanderers, Eliza Thorpe added two and Lauren Cartledge the other.

Wanderers’ replies came from Ruby Goodman and an own goal.

Swindon Spitfires maintained second spot with a 1-1 draw at home to Wootton Bassett and Larkhall were 11-0 victors over Lavington.

The U12 Division saw Swindon Town keep their 100 per cent record intact with a fine win over neighbours Highworth Town.

The Swindon side are now unbeaten for a season and a half.

Trowbridge Town were in dominant form at home against Derry Hill, clin ching a 4-0 triumph.

Louise Collier led the way with a hat-trick, Lauren Gowen bagging the other strike to keep them in the race in second place.

Trowbridge Wanderers travelled to Bath City and returned as 6-3 winners, Mia Blazey, Mollie Parry, Rebecca Snelling and Alexandra Winfield among the scorers.

Derry Hill edged out Larkhall in the U16 Division, the only goal of the game coming from Hannah Shepherd.
